How To Beat Writer’s Block
Writer's block is something every artist has been hit with at some stage whether it's music, production, art or writing. No matter how hard you try, the ideas just don't seem to flow when you want them to.
How To Finish More Music
Finishing music is perhaps the biggest challenge faced by producers regardless of your experience level. I know because I asked you all! I've struggled with finishing music myself over the years, but have a few tips to get you over the hurdle.
From the vault: Metro City Perth 2017
Thought I might take a couple videos from the Facebook vault and throw them on Youtube. I haven't been using...
BX BOYS UNITE: LOLO BX – Hold ft. Marcus Bower
After a hell of a release/listening party with our friends in Bx a couple weekends back, I'm excited to finally get this one out into the world.
"Hold" is...
We partied in a shipping container!?
I rounded up my Bx friends for a little invite-only party on the weekend and safe to say things got a little raucous. I couldn't think of a better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than raving inside a smoked-out shipping container with my closest friends.
Another Booty For the Collection
I went and flipped the new(ish) one from Alison Wonderland & Trippie Redd.
I loved the vocal in this one, and the build into the drop brings so much tension. I wanted to give it something a little heavier to fall into :) I tried messing with some more 'bass house' kinda sounds over my usual half time drum rhythms.
Feeling grateful af
I fell into the trap. And not the bass variety haha.
At some point in the last while I became way too consumed with looking ahead and aiming for bigger and bigger things. Which generally helps you move forward, but doesn't do much for your happiness and gratitude. You forget to be thankful for the goals you reach along the way.
Have I finally got a consistent art theme?
I'm low key proud of how my remix collection looks these days lol :)
I'm a graphic designer by day so I know the importance of branding, but I'm also a compulsive creator who gets get carried away with new ideas every day so I find it hard to stick to one theme. Good branding is actually restrictive in a way, which almost feels counterintuitive because as an artist you don't want to box yourself in. I've always broken my own rules when it comes to my own branding, but I think I've finally settled on something I can live with now and its feeling pretty cohesive.
New site who dis?
Welcome to my new home! I wanted more of a voice to share whatever I'm working on with whoever is interested. You can call it a blog, but it's more of a central hub to connect my various platforms and help me present my projects with more depth and explanation. Click here for more ramblings!
